About us and our aims

Introduction

Biddick is a popular and oversubscribed sports college, mainly serving the south of Washington, with around 1100 students on roll. We make a commitment to staffing and as a result we have one of the lowest teacher pupil ratios in the area.

Most of our students have English as a first language; the number of pupils with learning disabilities and the proportion entitled to free school meals are below average.

Ofsted judged us to be a good school with some outstanding qualities and parents were ‘overwhelmingly positive about the education and care that their children receive’.

School Ethos

Biddick is a caring community built on the principles of trust, tolerance and responsibility.

Our Aim

"A safe place where we promote and enjoy the highest individual achievement"

  • Student involvement in their own learning
  • Working with the community

We want your children, our pupils, to be safe, happy and successful. We want them to leave equipped for the challenges of life and ready to flourish.
