The best way to experience the very special atmosphere at Biddick School Sports College is by making a visit. We are an open school and encourage all parental and community interest.

The school is set in attractive grounds and has outstanding state of the art facilities. We moved into our new building in April 2010. The school is a co-educational specialist sports college for pupils aged 11-16. We are also a partner in the Usworth 6th Form, a joint post 16 venture involving three Washington Secondary Schools and the City of Sunderland College.

We are proud of our sporting, international and cultural achievements. The school is recognised for this through the Arts Mark Gold Award – recognition of our excellence in Art, Drama, Dance and Music. We have also been recognised by the British Council for our international dimension through the prestigious International School Award.

The philosophy of valuing wider opportunities for young people alongside academic success has enabled the school to build its reputation since opening 30+ years ago. The school is always a popular choice with parents and students. As a result we are over subscribed. I am proud to be the ‘head’ of such a special ‘family’ contact, I will respond!
